The Lady Squires fought in a very physical game tonight against BIshop Luers. Luers started off strong and possessed the ball much of the first half. The Lady Knights capitalized by scoring first with about 10 minutes to go before halftime. 30 seconds later, the Lady Squires bounced back as Ava Sautter sent the ball to Raimi Vawter who finished the shot in the right corner of the net. During the second half, the Lady Squires found another gear and continued to battle hard despite some rough plays. Ava Sautter, Samantha Shock, Elin Betten, and Olivia Stevens all had some good shots and gave the ladies other opportunities to score. The defensive line led by Maggie Onderko-White, Chase Blevins, Ane Hasund, and Brooklynn Grimes stayed tough and rarely let the ball through during the second half. After another forty minutes of scoreless play, the game ended in a tie. The ladies will take the field again on Monday, September 22nd as they will honor their 5 seniors and 4 foreign exchange students on Senior Night.
