7th Grade Lady Squires Win First Round of RRC

By Amber Ramseier | Mar 2, 2026 9:12 PM

The 7th Grade Lady Squires earned a hard-fought 28-18 victory over Maconaquah Braves. Manchester came out a little slow offensively, working to find their rhythm early on. Despite the sluggish start, the Lady Squires leaned on their defense and physical style of play to keep the game under control. Their strong defensive pressure and hustle on the boards helped shift momentum and set the tone for the rest of the game. Reagan Reid led the scoring attack with 15 points, continuing to be a steady presence on both ends of the floor. Ayelah Ortiz had a breakout performance, pouring in a career-high 9 points and providing a big spark for the team. Brenly Westendorf and Delaney Burgess each chipped in 2 points to round out the scoring. The Lady Squires’ toughness and defensive intensity proved to be the difference as they battled their way to another solid team win. They will be back in action for the second round of RRC on Thursday against Whitko.
